Day #29 | Dubai Story-lines Map | Continued

So day two of map and I kept asking myself, does it still look like a Map? It has been difficult for me working in a way that is not so focused on the function but has to balance that with an overall look that is graphically pleasing. Gradually throughout the day I began to understand that this map should be both a tool for finding locations, and given its audience it needs to function as an art-object. I am so used to using Google maps that shifting toward designing this dual-purpose takes a lot of re-thinking.
