Today I was assigned the task of designing a map which will be included in the ArtMap which is a national publication, that comes out quarterly and is managed by theJamJar and the Dubai Cultural Authority.
The map I have to make will accompany public stores about buildings across Dubai and the idea is that the map is both an illustration and works on a practical level with a key that indicates where the stories have been written across the city. Sonia shared a variety of inspirational moods with me including the earliest map of the Islamic world and a map created in Australia covering the routes Aborigines used to trek by foot across their lands.
