It was such a great day for a very important reason. Leen and I had a meeting with the clients to speak with them about our approach for the exhibition design. We met at SVENM with Stacey Pinto, a communication manager from Careem, Shireen Yaish, the owner of Kaynouna, and Jason who was a communication intern at Careem. We welcomed them to the office and spoke about about how much we truly appreciate the efforts they do especially that we didn't know about art psychotherapy so we were amazed !

I started off the meeting by explaining our approach of the project keeping in mind their most important goal which was to allow the visitors to experience the journey that these children have been through and to show case the effect of the therapy through the progress these children made in their drawings; From a sad truthful painting to a happier more hopeful one. And you will definitely be amazed by how much these children can express!

After that Leen took over the discussion and directed it towards the planning of the space. She walked them through the plan step by step explaining the reason for every decision we made and why we chose these particular design decisions.

They were very intrigued by the idea of having a black wall and we all pitched into suggesting where and how it would function; luckily we shared very similar ideas and all of them led to greater ones.

From there, we explained to them that selling the books on their own won't be as successful enough unless the pop-up shop sold other items such as tote bags, mugs, t-shirts and postcards. We then showed them a couple of designs that represent their companies using their logos and colors which they found to be very impressing!

Sometime along the discussion, Shireen mentioned that a man who has his own creative way of creating knafe approached her company and offered his services. We all definately thought that it would be a great idea to have him in the food and beverages section; I mean, who doesn't love Knafe?

Another thing we were concerned about was the idea of advertising for the event and the question of how were they going to grab people's attention to attend the exhibition? The key was having a promo-code or an offer by Careem so that people can come and have free rides as a reward. They also mentioned that they will be advertising for the event all over their social media and their websites as well as the phone apps.

After a long meeting of discussion, questions and answers, we concluded a meeting by deciding that there will be a follow up once they get back to their creative director about the new ideas as he unfortunately couldn't make it to the meeting today.

One of the most exciting days of out lives! The pride we felt and the thrill of accomplishment will definitely keep us going forward with a more positive outlook ! Stay tuned to read more about our design adventures!
